Blake Lively Retro Hairstyle
Blake Lively
Blake Lively went for a retro look with a contemporary twist for the New York Premiere, and she amplified her gorgeous long blonde waves with some chic tiny braids. This seems to be a favourite look for Blake as she is sporting the tiny braids quite frequently lately no matter what she is wearing. This look is proof positive that you don’t need to spend a lot of time or expense getting your updo plastered to your pretty crown for a formal event. Long, luxurious waves are always going to be in style, and are always pretty for any occasion. The addition of the braids is a flashback from the 70s but when you add it to gorgeous waves, you get an immediately contemporary look. The braids will also add some texture to your style, and give it some definition that will set your style apart from the average girl with wavy hair.

Instyle Modern Metalic and Lace-Spring Fashion Trend 2011

Instyle Modern Metalic-Spring Fashion Trend 2011
Not meant for nightclubs or superheroes, spring’s silvery looks are the flamboyant equivalent of go-everywhere denim. The key to the color’s deft repositioning is a draped, unstructured weightlessness that makes the shine as effortless to step out in as a smile.
Silver can look edgy—or even severe—in a structured silhouette, so stick to loose or sweatshirt-easy cuts. Pair with clean-lined casual pieces, as you would if you were slicking up denim. Steer clear of color, except for white or neutrals. For shoes, we suggest going silver—no gold allowed, except wedding bands.

Instyle lace-Fashion Spring Trend 2011
When lace leaves the Victorian era behind. Applied to a tank vest instead of a high-collar blouse, or a shirtwaist instead of a boned-bodice gown, the ultimate girlie fabric takes on a modern twist. Suddenly lace doesn’t just feel cool.
While a diaphanous Chantilly gown is still as lush as satin sheets. A drapey T, tablecloth mini, or peekaboo ballet flats give day wear a fresh, graceful edge. Avoid color. Black, white or nude looks richer and more alluring. Whether natural or brushed on, the only color to grace your face should be a faint blush.

Fashion Girl from Isabel Marant Spring 2011: Cool Girls, Unite

Isabel Marant’s clothes embody the modern, cool French woman. And that’s why she’s been such a success in the US. Marant, Vanessa Bruno, Paul & Joe…these are all brands we Americans covet because they allow us to emulate French chic.

marant11Ironically, Marant’s spring collection was dedicated to a certain American era: The early ’80s days of hip-hop, when girls wore shrunken baseball jackets, hoop earrings, and mesh netting. Mixed in with these heavily-influenced looks were more classic styles, including a few rugby dresses and some calico floral frocks.

Of course, it was all paired with Marant’s signature heels and boots, sure to sell out as soon as they hit the sales floor.

And for die-hard fans , Marant didn’t disappoint. A grey sweatshirt near the end was accented with black leather, sure to be priced at $200 +, and sure to be gone in a blink. Here’s to Isabel Marant for making us all a bit cooler.
