Since Christian Siriano was on the show Project Runway the show has never been the same. In his collection for Fall 2011 his inspiration is nature. This is another theme of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week for lots of of the designers who are showing this week.
The drama came back to the runway this season, when Christian hired stylist Danielle Nachmani, who's styled celebs like Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen & Maggie Gyllenhaal, with the duo they got the Wow factor on the runway, with tailored jackets in various textures of black over sheer skirts, ladylike suits & coats.
It seems as if Mr. Siriano is trying to be a bit more commercial. Could it be because of the Payless partner? Or because ladies need drama but not the cost tag? Stylish looks came down the runway tulip skirts with a lean black turtleneck &, there was a suit with a portrait collar paired with ruffled skirt. The OTT gowns returned. Then the brilliant petal-pink ball skirt surfaced on the runway paired with a simple grey silk tee to reeve it up a bit. Next a moody-hued orchid-print organza cocktail dress with a stunning swirling drape that ended in a rosette on shoulder.
